February Mid Point Task

This is my February Mid-Point task, my scenario was for someone to wrap an awkward shaped present. The task itself I found easy and only took me a matter of minutes to film, the editing also didn't take me too long. I used iMovie to edit my scene rather than premier pro like my other editing tasks, I found iMovie easier to use that premier pro because I could do it on my phone and there was no glitches or loading. I was happy with my final outcome but the only thing I would change is the lighting of when I filmed it, I felt like it was slightly too dark ad dingy but over all I was pleased.

Film Change

When planning my first film idea I found it hard to cast my characters and find the right location which was just wasting filming time and I felt as it wouldn't come out as well as I wanted it to. so after careful consideration I decided to change my film idea to something that would be easier to cast and film. I filmed a first draft over the Christmas holidays and have been playing around with the editing. My idea is a young boy wakes up and everything is going wrong like there no toilet paper left or cereal and he hasn't got any pants left. Then when he leaves the house he finds a coin on the floor and then everything starts going well for him... too well. The girl he likes texts him back, he wins a scratch card, he gets full marks on a test. The boy starts to get a bit too cocky with his luck but then as he's walking home he finds another coin and as he bends down to pick it up he doesn't notice the car coming towards him. This is my first draft of the first half

Applications

Mise - En - Scene Application Setting - Outside by the fence, possibly shots of him at home. Costume - Different outfits to show that its occurring on different days. Hair and Make up - Bruised eyes and both the man and woman. Lighting - Natural light is it is being filmed outside. Character Expression - Confusion toward the voices, pain when being poked in the eye, awkward looks between man and woman. Props - The stick he is poked with, the chalk the children write with. Sound Application There wont be much dialogue in my film, just the voices of the children really. I might add some music over the top of some sections. With the voices I think I will prerecord it and add it over the top of the scenes so I don't have to have the children there every time I'm filming. Narrative Application I want my film to have a linear narrative as I want it to be clear that he walks past the fence everyday, one after the other.
